Sea Pines Real Estate

A 5,200-acre residential and resort community at the southernmost tip of Hilton Head Island, Sea Pines is surrounded by the Calibogue Sound and five miles of Atlantic Ocean. Founded by visionary Charles Fraser in 1956, it was the first gated community with restrictive covenants in the United States.

There are four championship golf courses, including the Ocean, Heron Point, private Sea Pines Country Club and the world famous Harbour Town Golf Links (a Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus collaboration) home to the Heritage Golf Classic and boasting an iconic red and white candy-striped lighthouse overlooking the 18th green and the Intracoastal Waterway.

Harbour Town Yacht Basin’s 100-slip marina has rental and purchase options and can accommodate a vessel of 100 feet in length. It was modeled after a famous harbour in Portofino, Italy, with walkable access to villas, shops, and restaurants. South Beach marina is a laid-back New England–style fishing village with jet skis, kayaks, and deep sea fishing, as well as dolphin and nature boat tours. South Beach Racquet Club has 13 clay courts, while Sea Pines Racquet Club is a 23-clay court state-of-the-art tennis facility under the direction of U.S. Open and Wimbledon champion Stan Smith.

The forest preserve in Sea Pines is a 605-acre dedicated wildlife habitat with multiple recreational uses. Trails wander among old rice fields, a wildflower meadow, lakes, bird rookeries, and marshes. In the center of the preserve sits the Indian shell ring, which was built around 4,000 years ago and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Adjacent is Lawton Stables, a full-service equestrian center, offering horseback riding in the forest preserve, and Heritage Farm for the flower and vegetable gardener in each of us.

Sea Pines attracts visitors from all over the globe, and real estate opportunities range from one-bedroom villas to multi-million dollar oceanfront estates. Views include golf, lagoon, lake, marsh, woods, Calibogue Sound, and oceanfront panoramas. Select investment villas include Beachside Tennis, Cutter Court, Fairway Lane, Ketch Court, Lagoon Villas, Lands End, Ocean Course, Plantation Club, Port Villas, Sound Villas, South Beach Club, and Turtle Lane Club.

The Ocean Broker has specialized in Sea Pines oceanfront properties for the last 43 years. Within Sea Pines, Tom Tolpa closed the highest priced property in Hilton Head Island history (38 Surf Scoter: $9,200,000).
